Taplio is the biggest name in this niche, and it is not close: more features, more integrations, more third-party coverage than anyone else on our comparison list. This comparison is written the way we would want a rival to write it — real pricing math, a matrix that concedes every row Taplio wins, and every claim dated and sourced. If Taplio is the better tool for you, the closing section says so plainly.
Credit first, because most of it is earned. Taplio is an all-in-one growth suite: queue posts at your best times, mine a viral-post library for inspiration, analyze what works, run auto-connect and DM campaigns to warm leads, generate AI comments and replies on other people's posts (queued for your approval, nothing auto-posts), build carousels, and track everything through analytics and a LinkedIn Benchmark that analyzes 60,000+ posts monthly. Its MCP 2.0 integration lets you run Taplio from Claude, ChatGPT, or any MCP-enabled LLM, and it ships 17 free Claude Skills. That is a wide, well-integrated product, and the 7-day trial gives you full Pro access, unrestricted.
The Chrome extension deserves its own sentence: it is free, it works without a Taplio plan, and it puts instant stats, your best posts, and trending content directly inside LinkedIn. As a distribution surface, that is genuinely clever.
Taplio also has what we do not yet have: third-party coverage. Dozens of 2026 reviews and alternatives listicles examine it from every angle. We are the newer tool; nobody independent vouches for us yet either, and this page will not pretend otherwise.
Prices below were checked on October 1, 2026 from Taplio's own pricing page and hooklyai.com's pricing page. Taplio's plan table does not fully render outside a browser, so where a detail comes from a dated third-party review rather than taplio.com, we say so.
| Plan | Taplio | HooklyAI |
|---|---|---|
| Free tier | 7-day full-Pro trial; free Chrome extension (no permanent free plan listed on the pricing page) | 30 scored generation requests/month, permanent |
| Scoring on free | Trial-only; no published calibration either way | Included on every generation |
| Entry paid | “Plans from $39/mo” (their pricing-page title; annual billing — $49 month-to-month and the Starter AI-credit situation per June-August 2026 reviews) | Pro founding $14.50/mo, locked for life ($174/yr) |
| Standard paid | Higher tiers exist; third-party reviews disagree on the Pro price ($149 vs $199/mo as of mid-2026) | Pro $29/mo ($348/yr) · Elite $39/mo |
The math is not close at entry: $14.50 founding versus $39, and a permanent free tier versus a 7-day trial. What Taplio offers instead is the 7-day full-Pro trial — genuinely unrestricted, by their own FAQ — which is a different philosophy: try everything for a week, then pay, versus use a real free tier forever and upgrade when it converts you.
One thing buyers deserve to know before comparing sticker prices: multiple independent reviews from June through August 2026 report that Taplio's $39 Starter plan shipped with no AI credits included, with AI writing effectively starting at higher tiers. We could not re-verify the current credit table directly — Taplio's plan details do not fully render outside a browser — so verify on taplio.com/pricing and note the date. If that is still true, the real entry price for AI writing is meaningfully above $39.
Check = shipped and live. Minus = partial or caveated. Cross = not available today (ours) or not found (theirs). We update this matrix as features ship — in both directions.

Source note: Taplio capabilities as described on taplio.com pages crawled October 1, 2026 (pricing page, product pages, FAQ). HooklyAI capabilities as shipped on hooklyai.com on October 1, 2026. Where a cell says “not shipped yet,” that is a HooklyAI roadmap item, not a rival weakness — we do not score planned features as won.
This section exists on our comparison pages only when there is something real to document — quoted, not mocked, and easy to re-verify. For Taplio it is the entry-plan question:
Separately — and this is drift in the review ecosystem, not on Taplio's site — third-party reviews disagree on the Pro tier price ($149 vs $199/month in mid-2026). Treat any single review's Taplio pricing, including ours, as a snapshot to verify.
Taplio's Benchmark is real data at real scale — 60,000+ posts a month, analyzed. That is aggregate intelligence, and we respect it. But aggregate benchmarks answer “what works on average?” and HooklyAI answers a different question: “how does THIS draft score, dimension by dimension, before you publish it?” Our scorer publishes its full rubric — seven dimensions, what average posts should score (45–55, and we say why), and hard gates that cap engagement bait and external-link stuffing at 60 no matter how polished the writing is. We found no equivalent published calibration on taplio.com as of September 2026.
A score you cannot interrogate is just a number. Ours comes with the math:

Six published dimensions, hard quality gates, methodology in the open. How scoring works
…your LinkedIn strategy is engagement-led. If mining viral posts for remixes, running outbound auto-connects and DM sequences, commenting on other people's posts at scale, and reading stats directly inside LinkedIn via the Chrome extension are your core loop, Taplio ships all of it in one place, with an MCP integration if you live inside Claude or ChatGPT. HooklyAI does none of that today. That is the honest headline of this whole page.
Choose Taplio especially if you want the tool with the deepest bench of third-party scrutiny — dozens of 2026 reviews mean the flaws are documented somewhere you can find them.
Choose HooklyAI instead if you want your content measured against a rubric you can read: calibrated scores with rationale, hard gates that stop engagement bait, a permanent free tier (30 scored requests a month, not a 7-day trial), the first-comment generator for your own posts, and an 8-element profile optimizer. We are closing the breadth gap — carousels shipped in September, AI Voice Learning in October — but you should pick us for the proof layer, not the feature count.
Score a real post, generate scored hooks, or get your profile scored and rewritten. The free tier is 30 scored requests a month — permanent, not a trial — and none of the three tools below require an account to start.
